Winter is still here....only the name of the month has changed..the forecast for the week ahead means my wool hat remains firm on my head and my boots crunched around my feet...however at least i am another week nearer to retirement...unless the British Govenment deems to force more years on to my plate of mixed bones and tired saddles...a retired lady passed comment that retirement is only for those with big pensions to chase the winter sunshine around the globe, for us jolly working class on copper coins after six months one wants to return to work she said...i stood in the bleak sunshine a hand full of post box keys in my hand and watched her walk away i replied that i had too many books to read....turning her head..books are boring....i stared after her and wondered what her sex life was like if she found books boring, it's not the first time i have heard such an utterance and possibly will not be the last. Nor is it the first time i have heard that retirement is boring either...and why it does not surprise me that no one is rioting in the streets over the increase in age of retirement the old cabbage lie that there is no money in the pot and we are living simply bollocks...i suspect that if all the soaps on TV were finished in one press of the button a sort of four minute warning then Boom..a trillion old ladies would swish out onto the streets hand bags raised hat pins sparkling in the sunshine perhaps....So goeth
