Thursday 5th November 2015.

Sadly today there was no hord of rambling urchins on the cobbled streets of this fair town lying in the Manchester Basin gathering last minute bonty wood... i will not name the town today except to say it was in the book..Fifty worst towns in England..and i suspect it would climb to the number one slot should the book be republished....The air is not heavy with smoke from humble back garden fires, nor is there the smell of warm toffee or parkin along the streets....There have been a good few bangs whiz's but all is quite now....Thankfully i did pass one house with a bonty in the back garden one tiny spark of tradition lives on....and one small white dog on the back window of the car in front looking with hunger, astonishment and wonder, as rockets broke we moved in convoy down the least a smile to end the day....So Goeth...
